Information we collect
We collect information you provide directly to us, such as when you create an account, use our valuation tools, or contact us. This may include:
- Personal identification information (name, email address, phone number)
- Business information and financial data for valuations
- Usage data and platform interactions
- Communication records and support requests
How we use your information
By using FairlyValued, you grant us broad rights to use your information for any purpose, including:
- Providing and improving our valuation services
- Analyzing market trends and business patterns
- Developing new products and features
- Marketing and promotional activities
- Research and commercial applications
- Sharing with third parties for business purposes
Data sharing and disclosure
We may share your information with third parties without restriction, including business partners, service providers, and other entities for commercial purposes. Your data may be aggregated, analyzed, and distributed as part of our business operations.
FairlyValued.com is a research property of FIH.com, which advises technology companies on mergers and acquisitions. If you ask to speak to an adviser through this site, your enquiry and the details you submitted with it go to FIH.
This site is operated by FIH, LLC, an Ohio limited liability company.
Service providers
The site runs on a small number of providers, each of which processes the data needed for its own part of the service:
- Vercel hosts the website.
- Google Analytics 4 measures visits and page use, and counts completed actions such as a form sent, a newsletter signup or a purchase (with its price, never your name, email address or message). A browser that sends a Global Privacy Control signal does not load it.
- Cloudflare Turnstile checks that a form is being submitted by a person rather than a script.
- Forms on this site use Jid Signals, which reads your approximate location and network type from your connection to help prevent fraud; your IP address is not stored. When you submit a form, we check the business details you give (such as your e-mail address, company name, phone number, location and message) with Jid (jid.com), our fraud-prevention provider, to confirm the enquiry comes from a real business. Jid does not keep your e-mail address, phone number or message; it keeps the result, your e-mail domain, a keyed one-way hash of your e-mail address and a one-way hash of the message for 30 days. After we review an enquiry we may mark it with Jid as legitimate, a sales pitch, spam or a scam. Jid keeps that report for up to 24 months with the company and e-mail domain concerned and the keyed hash of your e-mail address (never the address itself). Jid publishes only counts about businesses, once at least two independent businesses agree, never anything about an individual (jid.com/privacy, section 2b). The Verified by Jid badge in the footer is an image loaded from jid.com. Like any web server, its host sees your IP address and user agent when the image loads; it sets no cookie and runs no script.
- Brevo holds newsletter subscriptions. You are added only after you click the link in the confirmation email (double opt-in), and every issue carries an unsubscribe link.
- SendGrid delivers transactional email such as your valuation result and receipts.
- Stripe processes payments for the paid report and advisory session. We do not see or store your card details.
Data retention
We retain your information indefinitely, even after account termination, for business, legal, and operational purposes. Data may be used in perpetuity for platform improvement and commercial applications.
Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you (access), to have it corrected, to have it deleted, and to receive it in a portable format (portability). Depending on where you live, local law may give you further rights. Using this site does not take any of these rights away. To make a request, use the contact form on this site. We will respond within the time the law requires, and we will not treat you differently for exercising your rights. If the law requires us to keep certain records, we will tell you which ones and why.
Security
We implement reasonable security measures to protect your information, but cannot guarantee absolute security. You acknowledge that data transmission and storage carry inherent risks.
Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy at any time without notice. Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of any changes.
